I work at this building (now Bridges Rock Gym). Does anyone know what this building was before it was the gym? This post seems to suggest both a furniture warehouse and a post office. If someone who knows could tell me, I'd appreciate it. Email krislmeister1@gmail

"Upscale"?? Really? Someone has never been to El Cerrito! Sure, there are some expensive houses in the hills, and with the exception of a few McMansions, most are non-descript, not very livable, and have little architectural merit. There are quite a few nicely tended Japanese style front yards, but otherwise, it ain't the Ritz, and never has been. It's the usual story, the poor folks live in the flats, and the posh folks live in the hills, though some have lived in the hills since before it became ridiculously expensive. Unless you know someone in El Cerrito, or want to go to Down Home Music store, there's really no reason to come here.
